Keep a clean kitchen! Sanitation is incredibly important while handling food. Keeping a clean fridge is a good way to make sure what you have is fresh, and you don’t accidentally use something that’s expired. Cleaning your fridge will also reduce chances of food borne illnesses due to mold. Mold spores can spread and land on other foods in your refrigerator and can contaminate them and can make you sick. Having a clean fridge will also make it easier to find things 😉
Season EVERYTHING! Say you’re making a dish that has a lovely sauce, but then you add unseasoned proteins and vegetables to it. It will still taste good, but it will taste even better if you give that meat and veggies a little S&P! Think of it this way, the more unseasoned things you add to your dish, the more “diluted” the flavor will become. So just remember to season as you go!

Invest in a Silpat! It’s a non-stick silicone mat that replaces foil or parchment. Greatly reduces garbage and waste, and also saves you money in the long run! It will last you years without ever losing its non-stick properties. I’ve had one for almost 10 years and it’s still like new. Using this instead of one-time use products helps reduce waste, thus making it more environmentally friendly. 🙂
