Now I know Pomegranate Lemonsweet wasn’t actually in the book nor the show, but the Dornish are known for their love of the tart fruit. In celebration of summer, I thought making a refreshing Lemonsweet and including this Dornish delicacy would be super delicious during a hot day. Just because Game Of Thrones is over for another 10 months, it doesn’t mean we can’t eat and drink like kings and queens!
This recipe is sweetened with turbinado sugar and honey as opposed to granulated sugar. I felt using those sweeteners were a little bit more appropriate for the setting, and turbinado sugar is less processed than other sugars, which is a bonus!
LOOT: 4 SERVINGS | QUEST TIMER: 10 MINUTES
1/2 cup turbinado sugar
1/2 cup water
2 tbsp honey
1/2 cup fresh lemon juice (about 3 lemons)
1/2 cup pomegranate juice
3 cups cold water
1.) In a small pot over medium-low heat, melt together the turbinado sugar, 1/2 cup water, and honey until it the sugar is completely dissolved, stirring occasionally.
2.) In a pitcher add the sugar mixture, lemon juice, pomegranate juice, and cold water – stir. Serve over ice with a pretty little lemon twist, for obvious reasons.
